Puto Bumbong

Purple sticky rice steamed in bamboo tubes with muscovado, coconut, and butter.

Ingredients

  • 0.33 cups Purple Rice
  • 0.17 cup Coconut Milk thick
  • 0.04 cup Muscovado Sugar
  • 0.08 cup Coconut Flakes toasted
  • 0.33 tbsp Butter
  • 1 pieces Salted Egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Wash purple rice. Soak in thick coconut milk 4 hours or overnight.

  2. Fill banana-lined bamboo molds with rice mixture. Steam 30 minutes.

  3. Unmold. Top with muscovado sugar, toasted coconut, butter, salted egg yolk.
