Ginataang Bangus
Traditional Filipino ginataang bangus
Instructions
Clean the bangus (milkfish), remove the head and bones if desired, and cut into serving-sized portions.
Heat a pot or wok over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onions until softened and aromatic.
Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the sliced chili peppers for a spicy kick.
Carefully place the bangus pieces into the simmering coconut milk. Cook for 5–7 minutes, gently turning once, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
Simmer for another 2 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve hot with steamed rice.
