Arroz a la Valla

Fragrant Filipino tomato rice — garlic-infused rice cooked with tomato sauce. A staple side dish for grilled meats and seafood.

Ingredients

  • 2.8 cups Jasmine rice
  • 3.5 cups Water
  • 4.2 tbsp Tomato sauce
  • 5.6 pcs Garlic, minced
  • 1.4 pcs Onion, finely chopped
  • 1.4 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a pot. Sauté garlic and onion until translucent.

  2. Add rice and toast for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  3. Pour in water, tomato sauce, and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil.

  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
