Squid Stir-Fry in Oyster Sauce

Tender squid stir-fried in oyster sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 large b. squid (cleaned and sliced)
  • 1 carrot (sliced diagonally)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced into squared)
  • 1 g reen bell pepper (sliced into squares)
  • 2 stalks leeks (sliced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 3 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 thumb ginger (minced)
  • 1.5 tbsp cooking wine
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 0 Ground white pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 4 g rams Maggi Magic Sarap
  • 3.5 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Combine the squid and baking soda in a bowl. Mix well. Let it stay for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse the squid and drain the water. Set aside.

  2. Combine the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Stir until well blended. Set aside.

  3. Heat cooking oil in a wok. Sauté the carrot, onion, white part of the leek, garlic, ginger, and bell peppers for 1 minute.

  4. Add the squid. Stir-fry for 1 ½ minutes.

  5. Pour the cooking wine. Toss.

  6. Add the sauce. Stir and cook for 30 seconds.

  7. Season with ground white pepper.

  8. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve with rice.
