Salted Egg Shrimp

Singapore-style Salted Egg Shrimp is easy on prep yet big on flavor! Cooked in salted egg yolks, milk, and spices, it's creamy, savory, and spicy seafood treat you'll love with steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 shallots, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 piece Thai chili peppers, stemmed and minced
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 6 salted egg yolks, mashed
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 0 salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Warm up some oil in a pan or pot on medium heat.

  2. Heat oil in a pan. Brown shrimp on each side until golden, then set aside.

  3. Add the aromatics — garlic, onion, ginger — and Cook it until fragrant.

  4. Add the garlic, pepper. Season it to taste.

  5. Cook it until everything gets tender and the flavors have melded together.

  6. Serve it while it's hot with steamed rice.
