Puto Mayon

Steamed rice cakes bathed in rich coconut cream from Bicol.

Ingredients

  • 0.4 cup Rice flour
  • 0.05 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.05 cup Sugar
  • 0.2 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.4 cup Coconut milk
  • 0.2 pcs Egg
  • 0.1 tsp Salt
  • 0.6 tbsp Butter, melted
  • 0.05 cup Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix rice flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, egg, and salt.

  2. Add coconut milk and stir until it's smooth.

  3. Pour into greased molds and steam for 20 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, simmer coconut cream with butter and brown sugar. Pour over steamed puto.
