Pinasman

Sweet Filipino pork belly braised with pineapple — tender, caramelized pork in a fruity sweet-savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 400 g Pork belly, cut into pieces
  • 160 g Pineapple, sliced
  • 0.8 tbsp Sugar
  • 0.8 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 0.8 tbsp Vinegar
  • 0.8 cups Water
  • 1.6 pcs Star anise
  • 2.4 pcs Garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Sear the pork belly in a pan, removing excess fat. Add garlic.

  2. Add pineapple with sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, and star anise. Pour in water.

  3. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes until tender. Uncover and let the sauce reduce until glossy.

  4. Serve as is or with steamed rice.
