Pinais na Hipon

Pinais na Hipon is a shrimp and pork dish wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in coconut milk. It's creamy, flavorful, and so good with steamed rice!

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb shrimp
  • 0.25 cup shrimp juice
  • 0.25 lb pork belly, chopped
  • 2 cup young coconut, shredded
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 4 g cloves, peeled and minced
  • 0 salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cup coconut cream
  • 0 banana leaves
  • 0 kitchen twine

Instructions

  1. Warm up some oil in a pan or pot on medium heat.

  2. Heat oil in a pan. Brown shrimp on each side until golden, then set aside.

  3. Add the aromatics — garlic, onion, ginger — and Cook it until fragrant.

  4. Add onion, garlic cloves

  5. Cook it until everything gets tender and the flavors have melded together.

  6. Serve it while it's hot with steamed rice.
