Grilled Calamari

Grilled Calamari

calamari marinated and grilled to perfection — smoky, charred, and succulent. A Filipino barbecue-style preparation.

Ingredients

  • 2 large bs. small to medium squid (cleaned)
  • 1.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.

  2. Place the squid inside a freezer bag and then pour-in the soy sauce mixture. Marinate for 1 hour.

  3. Skewer the squid in bamboo skewers. Grill for about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Baste with remaining marinade.

  4. Transfer to a serving plate

  5. Serve with rice.
