Dinendeng with Bilong-bilong

Dinendeng with Bilong-bilong — fresh seafood prepared Filipino-style with garlic, vinegar, and calamansi. Briny, savory, and deeply flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 2 piece fried bilong-bilong (moonfish)
  • 8 piece sitaw (snake beans, cut in
  • 12 piece okra
  • 2 ampalaya (bitter melon, cored and sliced)
  • 1.5 cup malunggay
  • 1 medium onion (wedged)
  • 2 medium tomato (quartered)
  • 3 thumbs ginger (crushed)
  • 3 tbsp bagoong isda
  • 2.5 cup water

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a cooking pot.

  2. Once the water boils, add ginger, onion, and tomato. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.

  3. Pour the bagoong isda in the cooking pot. Stir.

  4. Add the ampalaya, okra, and sitaw. Stir. Let boil. Cover and then cook for 5 minutes.

  5. Add the malunggay and fried moonfish. Cover and then cook in medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes.

  6. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.
