Crispy Fried Chicken Thighs

Filipino crispy fried chicken thighs recipe

Ingredients

  • 12.5 pieces Chicken Thighs
  • 2.5 cups Flour
  • 2.5 pieces Eggs
  • 2.5 tsp Salt
  • 1.25 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2.5 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1.25 tsp Paprika
  • 2.5 cups Cooking Oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the dry coating.

  3. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl to make an egg wash.

  4. Dredge each chicken thigh first in the egg wash, then press it firmly into the flour mixture to create a thick, even coating. Shake off excess flour.

  5. Heat 1 inch of cooking oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully lower the chicken thighs into the hot oil.

  6. Fry for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway, until the coating is deep golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  7. Drain on a wire rack and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
