Ahi Shoyu Poke is a Hawaiian raw fish salad with fresh ahi steaks, onions, macadamia nuts, and soy sauce. It's a refreshing and healthy meal that is perfect over sushi rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sushi-grade ahi (tuna) steaks, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.25 cup green onions, chopped
  • 0.25 cup Maui onions, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp macadamia nuts, crushed
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 0 sea salt to taste
  • 4 cup sushi rice,

Instructions

  1. Cut the ahi tuna into bite-sized cubes and marinate briefly in soy sauce and sesame oil.

  2. Prepare the base — cook rice and let cool, or arrange cucumber slices on a plate.

  3. Arrange the tuna on top and garnish with sliced avocado, sesame seeds, and green onion.

  4. Drizzle with ponzu or soy sauce and Best served right away.
