Ginisang Upo with Sardinas

This is a recipe for sauteed bottle gourd with canned sardines in tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium bottle gourd (peeled and sliced)
  • 2 .5 oz. cans spicy sardines in tomato sauce
  • 1 medium yellow onion (sliced)
  • 2 medium ripe tomato (cubed)
  • 4 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 1.25 cup water
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1.12 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.

  2. Saute onion and garlic.

  3. Add tomato. Continue to cook until soft.

  4. Put the sliced upo (bottle gourd) into the pan. Saute for 3 minutes.

  5. Pour canned sardines. Stir.

  6. Add water. Let boil. Continue to for 3 to 5 minutes.

  7. Season with fish sauce and ground black pepper.

  8. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.
