Ginisang Sigarilyas

Finely sliced winged beans are sautéed with thin strips of juicy pork, diced tomatoes, and aromatics until tender and fragrant, creating a simple yet satisfying vegetable side dish that pairs perfectly with steamed rice and fried fish.

Ingredients

  • 226.8 g (8 oz) winged bean (sigarilyas, sliced)
  • 56.7 g (2 oz) pork (sliced into thin pieces)
  • 1 piece tomato (cubed)
  • 1 piece onion (chopped)
  • 3 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 0.25 tsp ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup water
  • Fish sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.

  2. Sauté garlic, onion and tomato.

  3. Add pork once the onion and tomato soften. Continue cooking until the color of the pork turns light brown.

  4. Add water into the pan. Cover and continue cooking until the water completely evaporates.

  5. Add winged beans. Saute for 3 minutes.

  6. Season with fish sauce and ground black pepper.

  7. Serve hot with warm rice.
