Ginisang Sayote at Sardinas
Filipino ginisang sayote at sardinas recipe
Instructions
Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onions until softened and aromatic.
Add the diced tomatoes and cook until they soften and release their juices, about 2 minutes.
Peel the sayote, halve it lengthwise, scoop out the core, and slice into thin half-moons.
Add the sliced sayote to the pan and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until it is tender but still holds its shape.
Add the canned sardines with their sauce, breaking them up gently with a spatula. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the flavors combine.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot with steamed rice.
