Ginisang Pechay with Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 1 piece tomato, chopped
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 piece pechay, about 4 cups, ends trimmed and cut into thirds
  • 0 salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Put large pan - medium heat and warm up some oil. Add onions and garlic and Cook it until softened.

  2. Add pork and cook, breaking apart with the back of the spoon, until it gets lightly browned.

  3. Add tomatoes and cook, mashing with the back of spoon, until softened.

  4. Toss in water and Bring it to a boil. Lower heat, cover, and ontinue to Cook it until pork is done.

  5. Add oyster sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Add pechay (starting with tougher ends first) and cook, stirring them around, for about 2 to 4 minutes or until tender yet crisp. Serve while hot.
