Steamed Fish with Scallions and Ginger

This is a recipe for steamed fish.

Ingredients

  • 1 large b. red snapper (cleaned and scales removed)
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 6 piece scallions (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dry sherry
  • 1 knob ginger (sliced into strips)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tsp canola or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Make a series of diagonal cut on both sides of the fish using a knife.

  2. Combine salt and sesame oil. Rub the mixture on the whole fish. Set aside

  3. Combine soy sauce, ginger, scallions, and sherry.

  4. Arrange the fish in a heat proof plate. Pour the soy sauce mixture on top.

  5. Meanwhile, heat water on a base pan and then arrange the bamboo steamer on top of the pan.

  6. Place the plate with fish inside the bamboo steamer. Cover and then steam for 10 to 16 minutes.

  7. Heat the oil in a sauce pan.

  8. When the oil becomes hot, pour over the steamed fish

  9. Serve. Share and enjoy!
