Sardines with Chayote

Ingredients

  • 1 medium chayote (sliced)
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 5 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 1.25 cup water
  • 1.5 tsp fish sauce
  • 1.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan.

  2. When the oil becomes hot, saute the garlic until it turns light brown.

  3. Add the onion and chayote. Cook for 3 minutes.

  4. Put-in sardines, water, fish sauce, and pepper. Stir. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

  5. Transfer to a serving bowl. You can also top this over a cup of warm steamed white rice.

  6. Serve. Share and enjoy!
