Pata Tim

Tender pork leg stew with mushroom and bok choy.

Ingredients

  • 3 large bs pork leg (pata)
  • 1 piece Knorr Pork Cube
  • 1 bunch baby bok choy
  • 10 piece Shiitake mushroom
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.25 cup cooking wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 piece star anise
  • 2 tsp whole peppercorn
  • 6 cup water

Instructions

  1. Set turbo broiler to 350F. Broil pata for 20 minutes.

  2. Boil water in a cooing pot. Add broiled pata. Boil for 15 minutes. Drain water and then wash the pata with running water.

  3. In a clean cooking pot, arrange the pata. Pour soy sauce, Sesame oil, cooking wine, and water. Add whole peppercorn. Boil for 1 to 2 hours or until pork gets tender. Note: you can use a pressure cooker to tenderize the pork leg quicker.

  4. Add Knorr Pork Cube, star anise, and Shitake mushrooom. Cook for 20 minutes. Note: add more water if needed. Make sure that there is at least 2 ½ cups of sauce in the pot.

  5. Add sugar. Stir. Pour cornstarch and water mixture. Stir and cook until sauce thickens.

  6. Add baby bok choy. Cook for 2 minutes.

  7. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve. Share and enjoy!
