Onion Rings

It takes little effort to learn how to make onion rings. The ingredients of batter are minimal and basic. If you have a deep fryer, use it. If you don’t, using a large pot with high sides will suffice. You will need:

⏱ Prep: 12 min ⏱ Cook: 8 min

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large arge onions
  • 0.5 piece salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and cut them into thick slices, about ¼-inch in thickness.

  2. Combine oil with milk and a beaten egg in a bowl or food processor. Mix thoroughly until ingredients are well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt.

  4. Stir the flour mixture into the milk mixture. Mix until it becomes a batter.

  5. Fill a quarter to half a pot with cooking oil and heat. When hot, dip the onion rings one by one in batter and fry until brown and crispy. Serve.
