Tom Yum Goong

This is a recipe for Tom Yum Goong

Ingredients

  • 3.25 lb large shrimps or prawns (shelled and deveined)
  • 10 piece chili peppers (sliced)
  • 1.5 cup onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp chili paste (roasted)
  • 2 cup straw mushrooms
  • 1 medium sized tomato (wedged)
  • 1.5 tbsp lime juice
  • 1.5 cup cilantro
  • 4 cup water
  • 2 stalks lemon grass (cut in 1 inch lenght)
  • 2 piece galangal root (pounded)
  • 3 piece lime leaves
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

Instructions

  1. Pour water in a cooking pot and bring to a boil.

  2. Put-in galangal, lime leaves, lemon grass, tamarind paste, and fish sauce. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the shrimps and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.

  4. Put-in the onion, straw mushrooms, and chili paste then simmer for another 5 minutes.

  5. Add chili and tomato then simmer for one minute.

  6. Put-in the lime juice and cilantro then turn off the heat.

  7. Transfer to a serving bowl.

  8. Serve hot. Share and enjoy!
