Pork Adobo

Basic Filipino Prok Adobo with Soy Sauce, Vinegar, and Garlic. This delicious dish is perfect when served over newly cooked white rice.  .

Ingredients

  • 2 large bs pork belly ((note 1))
  • 2 tbsp garlic ((note 2))
  • 5 dried bay leaves ((note 3))
  • 4 tbsp vinegar ((note 4))
  • 1.5 cup soy sauce ((note 5))
  • 1 tbsp peppercorn ((note 6))
  • 2 cup water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix together the pork belly, soy sauce, and garlic then marinade for at least 1 hour

  2. Bring to a simmer the pot and put-in the marinated pork belly then cook for a few minutes

  3. Pour remaining marinade including garlic.

  4. Add water, whole pepper corn, and dried bay leaves then bring to a boil. Simmer for 40 minutes to 1 hour

  5. Put-in the vinegar and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes

  6. Add salt to taste

  7. Serve hot.
