Apple Glazed Pork Chop

Apple Glazed Pork Chop

Pork chops glazed with a sweet apple reduction — the fruit's natural sweetness pairs beautifully with the savory meat. A delicious Filipino dish.

Prep: 5 min Cook: 35 min

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 3 piece apples (thinly sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1.12 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • dried thyme to taste
  • dried rosemary to taste
  • dried oregano to taste
  • 1.25 cup oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Run salt and pepper on the pork chop. Let stand for 15 minutes.

  2. Heat the cooking oil in a pan.

  3. Pan Fry both sides of the pork chop until it turns brown. Remove excess oil.

  4. Pour-in the apple juice. Let boil.

  5. Add rosemary, oregano, thyme, and half of the brown sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes (add extra apple juice as necessary). Turn the heat off when the sauce reduces.

  6. Heat a separate skillet and then put in the butter.

  7. Add the onion, apples, and remaining sugar. Stir and then cook for about 5 minutes.

  8. Arrange the pork chop in a serving plate and then top with the apples and onion.

  9. Serve.
